I wrote the first political self-help book, here’s why
“Urth” is a social media company that empowers its members to bring people together and solve the problems they care most about. In this meetup from ecosystem AI, host Rob Janssens interviews Peter Montoya about Urth and how he envisions it will change the social media landscape.
00:00:04:14 – 00:00:22:18
When you when your violence is that you had a leadership transformation experience and that kind of changed how you thought about how you thought about business, then linking to that to this this American crisis, just to sort of paraphrase some of the there the balance from from your book.
00:00:23:18 – 00:00:41:21
What was that leadership transformation and how does it transform into this crisis that America faces? I have got a follow up question to that. So you’re referencing my my second. So my. third book, which is the second Civil War, a citizen’s guide to healing our fractured nation.
00:00:42:05 – 00:01:00:03
And that book, I think as far as I know, is the first political self-help book, which means it really is designed to help the average citizen who is rather entrenched into this kind of anxious, perpetual anxiety about our country.
00:01:00:03 – 00:01:14:16
And that’s what that book really is about and the transformational experience that I had in that regard that changed the way I thought about that as I loved my father in law dearly. He would send our regular political emails, and I replied back to that email.
00:01:14:19 – 00:01:33:09
one of those emails, when I was in a moment of extremism with an incredibly hostile, angry arable email, and then the moment when I pushed the send button, I thought it was perfectly reasonable. And then maybe a day or so later, I went back and read that email and I was like, Oh my god, why did I
00:01:33:10 – 00:01:57:00
say this? What made me think that it was OK to rebuke him in this manner with such utter disrespect? And that really led me to take a risk. I understand what our roles are in our political life, what our responsibilities are, because I think but by far, most of us are largely a victim of this political system
00:01:57:00 – 00:02:11:06
right now. Rather than being than being a sovereign and conscious agent. And so that book really is about is transforming yourself from being a pawn and to being risky and having agents. If you were more committed to national unity than partizanship.
